Attention: Book Lovers, History Nerds and Knowledge Seekers

Hello, Campus Colleagues:

My 93-year-old father-in-law passed away late last month, and before departing this Earth he entrusted to me the responsibility of his personal library – all 4,000 books of it.

The task of taking on this collection has begun and, to honor my father-in-law, I’m trying my best to find good homes for the books I think others might enjoy and appreciate.

I’ve always had great success with dropping off used books at the cart just outside the Marvin Library exit. I think this speaks to the highly literate and intellectual nature of our faculty, staff and students!

I made an initial drop-off at the library (see photo below). Joe was a great student of history – particularly Winston Churchill and the seminal event of his childhood, World War II – but also enjoyed early American History, mysteries, quantum physics, math puzzles, writers from “The New Yorker,” and a host of other subjects.

Stop by the library, browse, and pick up a book or three. I will hopefully replenish as needed!

Thanks,

Eric Bryant
